Find anything with Insights and saved views
Filter every submission in your school by grade, teacher, class, standard, tag, date or score, and save the views you use.
Updated
Insights in the Admin Portal sidebar shows how students are doing on classwork across your whole school. Start broad, then narrow down to one grade, one teacher, or one standard.
Filter the school's work
The bar at the top narrows everything on the page:
- Search matches student names, assignment titles, teachers and classes.
- Date range: last 7, 30 or 90 days, this school year (from July 1), or all time.
- Grade, Teacher, Subject, Class, Standard domain, Tags and Status (Awaiting grading, AI graded, Reviewed). Pick several values in one filter to see any of them. A class that covers several grades, like 6–8, shows under each of them.
- Score: a range in percent, one of the quick bands (Below 50, 50–69, 70–84, 85+), or Only work with no score yet.
Every filter you add shows as a chip under the bar. Click the x on a chip to remove it, or Clear all to start over.
The filters live in the page address, so you can bookmark a view or send the link to a colleague who also has Admin Portal access. They see their own school's data through it.
Read the numbers
The row of numbers covers every submission that matches your filters, not just the ones on screen:
- Avg Grade, Highest and Lowest, as percentages.
- Missing: matching submissions that don't have a score yet.
- Proficient: scores of 70% or higher. Approaching Proficiency: scored work below 70%.
Scores are converted to percentages the same way the gradebook does it. A score like 18/20 counts as 90%, and a proficiency level counts at the middle of its band.
Two tabs sit below the numbers:
- By assignment: one card per assignment, with its average, a red, amber and green bar for how scores split, and how many submissions aren't graded yet. Click a card to open that assignment's insights: question by question, by standard, and growth.
- Recent submissions: every matching submission, 50 per page, in the order you picked under Sort. Click a row to open the student's work and feedback.
Save a view
When you have filters you'll want again, open Saved views and choose Save current filters as a view…, or click Save as view beside the chips. Give it a name and it saves your search, filters, sort and tab.
- Choose a saved view from Saved views to bring its filters back.
- An amber dot on Saved views means you've changed the filters since you opened that view. Choose Update to save the change.
- Hover a view in the list and click the bin icon to delete it.
Your saved views are private to you, and they're kept per school: a District Admin sees each school's own views in that school.
Note: Saving views isn't available in a demo account. The built-in view still works.
Built-in view
Not yet graded is always in the list and can't be deleted: submissions still waiting for their first grade, oldest first.
Insights shows work that has been scanned. A student who never turned anything in has no submission to show here, so for "who hasn't handed in past-due work" use Missing Work (from See all on the Dashboard's Students with missing work number).
